Open the Barrel: Remove the nut and washer, press down on the bolt with your thumb while lifting up on the outside of the outer lid with your fingers.
If the outer lid is difficult to remove, carefully insert the washer between the edge of the outer lid and barrel, then twist until loose. After the outerlid has been
removed, then lift the inner lid by using the center bolt.
2. Add Rocks: Fill the barrel about 1/2 to 2/3 full of rock. Rocks should be of assorted sizes for best results. You can use the Pellet Filler to make up for lack of rocks.
3. Add Abrasive: Add 4 level tablespoons of 60/90 (Step 1) Then add water to the top of the rocks.
"Do not over fill!"4. Close the Barrel: Make sure to wipe the mating surfaces of the barrel and the inner lid clean with a damp cloth. Leave no water or abrasive on those two surfaces. Push the inner lid into the barrel until it comes to rest on the inner shoulder.
Next replace the outter lid on the barrel. Now install the washer and tighten the nut. The nut should be hand snug. DO NOT USE PLIER! Pliers can cause damage to the inner lid causing possible leaks.
5. Tumble: Plug in the tumbler into the correct outlet. Place the barrel on the tumbler making sure that the groove in the barrel nut sits on the tumbler guide. Tumble for 2 - 3 days. Stop and open the barrel to check on the rocks. You should see the rough edges wearing down on the stones. After 5 - 10 days, open the barrel and rince the stones in a bucket of water.
Do not put the rince water down the drain, it may clog the drain! Make sure to clean the rocks and barrel (along with its parts) thoroughly. You may use a milde soap and water. Make sure all the soap is removed from the barrell prior to adding the next abrasive! Repeat steps 2 thru 5: Use finer abrasives in according to the chart below.
